Half Broke Horses



Author Jeanette Walls tells the story of her grandmother Lily Casey Smith - a strong woman who overcomes poverty and tragedy. As a child Lily learns how to break horses. At the age of fifteen she rides five hundred miles, alone, to get a job. Later in life Lily runs a vast cattle ranch in Arizona. As a woman of many talents, she tries to fight injustice wherever she finds it, which occasionally lands her in trouble. -in english language-
